VHS video to laptop conversion ?

Am having trouble converting because although I have bought a Easycap converter it is not taking the audio over with it. Most probably a driver problem but fecked if I can fix it. Any help welcome. It is not just a question of uninstalling them and then putting them back on again because I cannot find them in Device manager.
Now .... And maybe Bozza is the man to answer this.. Is it possible to convert straight over to IPad from the video player or camcorder or will it have to - once I have sorted outed driver problem - go from laptop to IPad.

Had the same problem and the solution was fairly simple use only the Easycap for the video and wire the sound through the 'line-in' or 'mic' connections on your PC.
You need to go through some of the settings menu to tell the software where to look for the sound but it works fine!

One other hint....if you are doing a lot of capturing it is best to use a razor and snpa of the hard balck easycap cover as it gets quite hot when in use!

The Ulead software is good for capturing but I found when this is rendered as a DVD there is a tendancy for the sound to be slightly out of sync so I use Studio for the burn! (other software is available)
