Can anyone explain, in simple terms, how, using a PC, I can transfer something from a Video tape onto a DVD.

I don't think you can. certainly not without a load of other equipment.

Well, that's certainly answered it in simple terms. My boy is doomed never to see captain caveman.

It can be done.

You need some software - I use Roxio Easy Media Creator

You also need the right cabling to connect your VCR to your PC - I got some bundled in when I bought this PC so don't know what the technical name for it is.

The point is, you can do it

In a cave
If you have a VCR and a DVD they are easy to connect (need a Scart lead) and transferring a video to DVD is easy. I have copied some of my old Albion stuff from video to DVD, quality is not brilliant but the original recordings are old and had been played many times!

Alternatively, you could just click on this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsVKemv0kiE

Enjoy.

I did enjoy that. As did my wife, who feels that Captain Caveman is cute and resembles Donald Pleasance.....

However, I have found a dvd of Captain Caveman on e-bay and have bought that, so no need for the technology solutions. Thanks anyway.
