All our div 1 rivals seem to be tooling up for the coming season while no news any needed additions to our squad - anyone else concerned?

It will be, McGhee's on holiday til the 27th.

As are most players not involved in Euro 2004.

July will start the rush of transfers and all the speculation

But he has already put out feelers to some of the players he is interested in and will hopefully return to some positive responses from them and their agents

??? you will find this has been said every season and nout will happen, well it will be loan players and i predict no new signings before the season starts as funds are not available because retard players get new contracts when they barely are not good enough for the 2nd division.

SAME OLD ROUTINE EVERY SEASON:smokin:

Most players and managers are on their hols around now as it is the only break they get between the end of the season (it was less than three weeks ago for some!!!) and pre-season training which starts in early July.

Also, many contracts expire at the end of June so players out of contract can't move until 1st July.

Let's be thankful that we have a manager for 1st July this season so unlike last time in Div 1 we might have a chance of signing players.

I must admit I'm worried too... if only because last time we were promoted to this level our summer acquisitions were poor, and we are relatively short on funds again... we need to try to tie up contracts with our out-of-contract players ASAP, extend the contracts of Danny and Leon ASAP, then hit the market with some good buys in early July... most contracts do end in June... although some clubs are setting up the deals early with effective dates of 1/7... why can't we be so proactive?... we are ALWAYS too slow... and what about some urgent action on the P&R / 2,000 extra seats... this would help income, even if we had to splash the cash in the first instance...
