My experience is with Japan.
To teach at an official Academy they require Celta, plus uni.degree
and more friggin' red tape than I would tolerate.
I used to go there for a 'holiday' and could always find private students.
- a great way to pay for my holiday

These days I teach on skype.

Update on my story!

Now in Vietnam teaching at a new University. Pay and conditions are good with a great apartment thrown in too. Quite a few newly qualified TEFL teachers here too so clearly the need for prior experience is falling in some places!

Downside: Albion v Barnsley doesn't kick off until 10pm here and I have to be up at 6am for work. Bring back Saturday 3pm kick-offs!!!!
