No rain in Norfolk for weeks and weeks.
Trees are dying (including a large Horse Chestnut at the end of my garden, next door’s Holly and a Sycamore - all mature trees) Fireman from 3 Counties being called out daily to forest fires in Norfolk.
Who cares about Norfolk on a Brighton dominated thread you might think? Well we all should.
Crops here are under severe stress and farmers have been trying to keep fields irrigated with extraction. This in turn empties river and results in dying birds (from diseases such as botulism which thrive in warm shallow water) and fish will need to be restocked.
If our home grown crops start failing significantly (and Norfolk is a major distributor all round the Country) we will not only have a shortage but will need to import more than usual, driving up costs for everyone.
