I voted VH, my views confirmed.

Webster also started the 1-5 against Everton, we were torn to shreds down that side.
WS - you remember how much you used to defend the right sided centre back having to play next to your, ahem, favourite player Montoya? Surely you can see the issues Webster is having with Gross or Milner next to him? We really need to sort the RB issue out or whoever is playing right sided centre back will have problems.

Webster probably does need dropping after today, that was a shocker, but I’m really not sure JPVH is the answer either. It’s why I desperately wanted us to get Colwill. Hopefully Igor can prove his worth soon.

Shame, I did suggest him as a signing a while ago but knew we probably wouldn’t have a chance. Very good young player.

The fact that Antonio’s heat map was concentrated on the left proves they targeted our right hand side. It’s a blatent weakness and I’m suprised we’ve not done anything about it.

Webster was the difference today, not in a good way, would like to JPVH get a run of games.

Also like to see Veltman RB.

If Milner has to start could he not play at base of midfield?

We kind of agree, but I just don’t rate Webster. Last season, always a disappointment for us to see his name rather than Colwill. Montoya was a liability in defensive duties, I can still reel off the wingers names who destroyed him. Imho Lamptey so far is also a poor defender at the highest level.

Absolutely, defence is a team game. I love Veltman, I’ve always been a specialist RB or LB punter.

I knew we wouldn’t sign Colwill, Boehly held all the aces, with Poch and Cntstanley they dismissed our bids with aplomb as they look to copy Real/Citeh by having 22 class players. That’s why I mentally signed out of that signing that was never going to happen last spring.

Back to where we agree, the Everton 1-5 was Gross and Webster. Their shocking relegation left side couldn’t believe their luck, facing two players without exceptional pace and no specialist RB.

We should always play a proper, quality RB imho. I realise RDZ got loads of results not doing that in calculated risk-reward. But I bet he’s love to have a right sided Estupinan.

Give van Heck a chance. Webster was terrible today.
Having said that the ref missed the push for the first goal but Webster should have headed it out.
It was a crazy decision to try and play the ball back to the ‘keeper from so far out.

Neither of the centre-backs is going to come out well over the course of the season when they’re that exposed. One of the problems with our style when we are chasing a game. I was more surprised today at the lack of cynical fouling. We’d got very good last season at nipping breaks in the bud by tripping players in their own half or around the halfway line.
