Right then,

Long story but have been in 'dialogue' with an ex where there are still very strong feelings etc etc - but taking things nice and slowly.

We have agreed it would be nice to meet up next Thursday and do something in London. Meeting point of convenience is London Bridge area after work.

now going for dinner etc is very obvious but I am liable to hoover up a bottle of rouge in the first hour and start spouting rubbish.

So in a nutshell I need to come up with something no too romantic or coupley, something that does not involved large amounts of alcohol.

A surprise that says caring, innovative, creative, empathetic and fun - all the things I'm not.

Any ideas??

Well my advice was to never get back with her in the first place, and look how much attention you paid to THAT.

Pity it isn't still Christmas, you could have spent the evening volunteering with Crisis, that certainly says that you are caring and empathetic...bit low on the innovation, creativity and fun stakes though.

Easy one. Get on the train at London Bridge and take her to Crawley vs Gravesend. 7:45 kick off.

meet up but keep calling her the wrong name

that should be a larf

Use her to attract other wimmins, then excuse yourself for a "brief moment" and head off with a tart who's interested in getting you away from bint#1.

That way, you end up with a bint who won't have preconceptions and 'relationship issues', and your headache is over.

Face it sunshine, bint 1 is only curious to see what she might have seen in you, and looking for flaws so she can go off you easier.

Don't forget to ask her, within a minute of meeting at London Bridge, if she brushed her teeth this time, and say "still wearing that??" at whatever she wears.

You are a bloke, remember?

Dunno if they still do it but Covent Garden used to have ludicrous amounts of flowers on Valentines

If it's still going and the weather's not shitty my prescription would be:
a walk along Embankment, up to Covent Garden for the flower market when they're knocking it out cheap, £20 worth of tired roses, a gormet burger, a quick punch up the whiskers in a pub toilet and back home in time for "Question Time".

who said romance was dead?

Give her a labrador puppy as a present.
