Hello, another one of these threads I’m afraid and hoping for advice please!

Firstly, uPVC windows. Four replacement handles throughout the flat are fitted incorrectly (by me) and need replacing. I botch absolutely everything no matter how simple so decided to just get someone professional to do it properly. I’m calling a few companies to get quotes to replace these for me, anyone have a clue on what I should expect to pay for this? One of the (original, not attempted to replace) window handles doesn’t close downwards, so might need a new mechanism(?).

Secondly, I am without transport presently - any suggestions on where to order paint/(tester pots first) online for painting a bedroom?

Many thanks!

If you live in Seaford there is a Brewers decorating supplies, may be worth seeing if they do paint testers, or short bus trip to B&Q at Newhaven.

I never attempt any diy as I always ruin it so even simple stuff , I call in a professional. Life’s too short to have all that stress .

Right Here, Right Now
I used Window Repair Magician based in Telscombe Cliffs. They replaced hinges, seals and handles on my living room windows. Good value and great workmanship. P. S I have replaced my UPVC window handles on all of my windows since then and it is very easy and cheap ( via Ebay), there are some great tutorial videos on YouTube.

Ten minute job that I’m not sure how you can mess it up it’s like two screws 🤔🤣
I speak to my Dad about it quite often as he's very handy having spent his entire life on building sites. When I ask him to help me put some shelves up or do some tiling or whatever I tell him how amazed I am at how he finds it so simple. He then says to me that what I can do on computers having worked in tech for 15 years absolutely baffles him.

People have different skills

To be fair you are right it’s all easy when you know how. I’ve seen other folk struggle using a screwdriver, as for power tools some should just stop you are going to do yourself damage 🤣

This is fairly true, some people are very practical and some people can find niche porn in milliseconds. That said some of us can do both and we are the dangerous ones.
