Will be interesting viewing on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, come on Obama!

Why Tues/Wed? The President and Vice President are not actually elected until Dec 15th.

Election Day.
Federal law sets Election Day for federal offices on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November. The electors pledged to a particular candidate are formally chosen in the popular election held on that day. That is, while many people believe they are voting for a particular candidate on Election Day in November, they are, in fact, casting their vote for that candidate's electors.

Meetings of electors.
Electors meet in their respective state capitals (or in the case of Washington, D.C., within the District) on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December, at which time they cast their electoral votes on separate ballots for President and Vice President. In 2008, that meeting will be on December 15.

I think it will be EXTREMELY close, because of the fact that everyone thinks that Obama is going to the win, and so some of his supporters will not think that their votes are necessary, whereas the McCain supporters will think the opposite, and so will turn out in numbers.

Rubbish, absolute hot air.

After 'W', EVERY sensible American is sick to the gills with a bent regime of tyranny and ignorance. You can bet their bottom dollar they'll be striding determinedly and intently to the voting stations.
McCain is a weak attempt, and the silly bint running with him is contemptuous enough to get people even more riled up.

Obama will walk this election, winning hands down. They'll try and put a spin on it, of some semblance of level neck-and-neck, but if the votes come in honestly and without tampering - Obama is already the new US President.
Joe Biden was also a pretty good choice of Vice-Pres. He's smart and experienced, has a lot of respect in politics, and shows that Obama isn't awed by having a fellow with strength and power alongside (again, totally unlike McCain, who has basically chosen a mannequin to run with).

Obama will win but I feel the Bradley effect will make it closer than some people think.
