I had no idea that the population of Uruguay is only 3.3 million, yet just look at how many top quality players they have produced. Amazingly, they've won the Copa America more often than any other country.

I just happened to be looking through an atlas the other day and when I saw Uruguay I thought jesus thats small, I had no idea I thought it was much bigger than that.

Think when it boils down to it poverty has alot to do with this. The kids just play football all day everyday so when they are 16-18..... they are pretty good

We were beaten by USA 1-0, but not knocked out by them. It was a group match.

I can imagine that not many European countries wanted to go, as it was a bit of a trek to get to Uruguay.
