dawson by a mile for me.

but fabio will pick carragher.

not a problem however, as by the time we get to the important games, carragher will have a suspension (earned for pulling shirts as mediocre obscure players blitz past him).

my only concern with Dawson is that he has similar characteristics to Terry and can get caught for pace as well (not as much so as Carragher granted). For that reason, his greater experience and that I like a left footed centre back in the team I would go for Upson for the next game.
I am a big fan of Dawson though

Indeed. We've been a bit unlucky with centrebacks: King and Ferdinand injured, and Upson and Carragher have had poor seasons - and neither were particularly quick to start with. That only leaves Terry (who hasn't been that brilliant himself recently and is also not very quick) and the tyro Dawson.

What the hell: Dawson CB with Hart in goal. Let's go down fighting.

Upson is actually the quickest of them all (at Arsenal he used to be second only to Thierry Henry apparently) but his positional sense isn't the best IMO. It surely cannot be Carragher who is way too slow so for me, whilst it would be Dawson on form, I believe Upson will get the nod based on his experience. Whether it's him or Dawson I suspect James must play as his extra experience may now be crucial
