I have always liked Carragher, but he had a relatively poor season and he was ripped for pace by Altodore on Sat. I would like to see what Dawson can do, although Upson has more experience.

Not a great choice. Taking King has proved to be a massive mistake that many could see coming.

Looking at it now I am really disapointed Jagielka wasn't called up, I think he is better than any on that list

To be fair, this is a new injury, not the knees - but in general I agree, using an injured player is asking fopr trouble. Although, you could ask, at this stage of the season, after 10 hard months, how many are really fit ?

Carragher is too slow and out of form, Upson has had a mediocre season, so on form if not experience, it's Dawson for me.

Germany have proved so far you don't need years of experience to succeed.

I don't think it would be too risky giving Dawson a go against Algeria, he's the most mobile of the three. Carragher should be the last choice out of those three but I fear he maybe top of Fab's list, he is hopeless.

Upson's done a job for the team recently and i think he could handle the Algerians also.

Indeed. We've been a bit unlucky with centrebacks: King and Ferdinand injured, and Upson and Carragher have had poor seasons - and neither were particularly quick to start with. That only leaves Terry (who hasn't been that brilliant himself recently and is also not very quick) and the tyro Dawson.

What the hell: Dawson CB with Hart in goal. Let's go down fighting.

Cappello went down (from a very high position) with his squad selection, it being 2006's squad. For him to go with Carra after that would be very disappointing.
