Upgrading ticket in the Family Stand

I have an adult and an U16 in the Family Stand. My son struggles with the evening matches as he gets tired. I asked at the ticket office if I could pay the extra and bring an adult friend to the Palace match as a one off. I was told I couldn't as I then wouldn't have a child with me.

Having spoken to others in the Family Stand they were able to upgrade their tickets without a problem. There were loads of empty seats in the Family Stand for the Palace game whilst I had offered to pay extra to fill my seat. What's the policy?

The advice you were given is correct. However, subject to availability, the ticket office will try to move you to another area of the ground and upgrade your ticket. The key is to advise the ticket office as early as possible.
