the youngsters that have come into the team this year have been superb esp.with Virgs grabbing the headlines. However i think that a huge amount of credit must also go to Nicolas, Hinshelwood and Hammond, the latter i have always thought would have been the answer to our midfield problems last year and has been playing brilliantly. However, credit must go to mcghee for giving these lads 2nd chances and for pulling off masterstrokes like playing Oatway at rightback vs Forest & of course putting one of our best defenders up front and turning them into a prolific centre forward!!!

When u think of the money we have at the club that has gone into the team, its a near miracle that we aren't bottom so this is my chance to say a huge well done to McGhee & the players on what is so far an excellent start to the season...mid table mediocrity anyone

Hinsh is THE unsung hero IMO. He has played all over the pitch for us & has been excellent wherever he plays. I think he will turn out to the best of this crop of youngsters, and once Butters retires he'll stay at Centre-Back where he belongs.

It is great to see all these youngsters starting to believe in themselves & each other. Just to think, if we had a few injuries we could have this team (where they are all under 22)

There are three people I NEVER want to see leave this club: Hinsh, Bob Booker and Dean Wilkins. Ignore Hinsh's managerial disaster, his work (along with Wilkins) in rebuilding the youth set-up after the disaster of the Jackson era deserves nothing but the highest praise. (In fact 'rebuilding' is probably the wrong word, what we have now compared to what went before is like comparing Old Trafford to Withdean). Booker has been brilliant as the interface between the players and the management, we'd really miss him if he left. Thankfully his attempts at being the boss may have convinced him that, like Brian Kidd, he's best at being a #2.
