[Albion] Unsold seats

Couldn't go yesterday due to the game being moved from Saturday to Sunday.

I put my ST on the exchange for the second time this season. For the second time it didn't sell.

I haven't made my mind up yet if I'll go to the Liverpool game. Flying early the following day.

If I don't, I won't post my ticket for resale. If ever a game was made for a futile protest against Sky's shan kick off times, the utterly inadequate and hopeless midweek transport at the Amex and the complete indifference of the club to same, it's this one. I guess one transgression won't put me on the naughty step.

I don't have angst, but I do have an interest.

It feels to me as though our support, in terms of the number of people prepared to pay and travel to home games, has dropped off this season, but I don't have data to back that up.

In recent prior seasons, it has always felt like exchange tickets were quite few and far between and, as you say, those second sales were significant.

This season, certainly over recent months, we've seen thousands - sometimes in excess of 4,000 - unsold exchange seats. I just don't think that happened before.

So, as I say, it's more personal curiosity and interest.

I've had to miss two home games this season, and my ticket failed to sell both times on the exchange - the first time(s) that has happened.

We've listed our tickets 4 times this season and they have failed to sell. In previous years they have always sold.

I agree with the first point but the second is what the club are already doing anyway, there is no discount.

If I’m reading 2) correctly I’m understanding you recommend that the club should discount unsold tickets on the day of the match. This would just stop people buying tickets in advance and then not bothering on match day.

There’s various issues with your sugggestion but there has to be a better way. That said, the club have got their money so I’m not sure there’s any will to completely fill the ground.

I reckon the Liverpool match could see the smallest crowd of the season , prehaps only 20000 , it would not surprise me given the transport situation, and a Monday night match kicking off at 800pm ,

I have a feeling it will be much higher.

Sold 3 times early season but not sold for Palace and West Ham

The problem with selling a lot of exchange tickets at a concession price is that they have to refund the season ticket holder based on it not being a concession so would be losing money.
I guess they could change their money back scheme to allow for this and only give you a concession price back if that’s what it sold for but how many would be happy with that?

Five times in a row now either my son's ticket or mine (or both) have failed to sell on the exchange – (since Barber's email and the very noticeable drop in attendances recently). All previous seasons we sold these WSL seats almost guaranteed every time.

Shit membership/ticket sharing etc situation - (some will disagree on this, that's fine - many other clubs are better on this IMO).

Was always going to happen. Think the club may regret being quite so hard on season ticket holders when we next have get relegated/have a significant poor patch on the pitch.

seems to be an expectation that tickets will sell when they are put on the Exchange and the club should make every effort to sell them, even at a loss to the club.
Surely the club is right to have an expectation that STH want to go to every home match and will only drop out in exceptional circumstances. Not fancying a match doesn’t count!
Some are claiming that their ticket always sold on the Exchange (before it even came into operation?)

2,001 unsold seats today for Newcastle when I checked just before kick-off (well, took screenshots on my phone which I've just got round to adding up).

W3G (my block) had the most seats for sale with 92.

Not possible.
According to the BBC the match was a near sell out with 31580 attending. Lol

Does the club wait to the last 'club' ticket is sold before putting up the exchange tickets, if so there must be a lot of lost opportunities there i.e. where a couple want to go but don't because seats are individual or in the worst possible places e.g. top row WSU.

I actually don't think they are not selling because of travel/membership situation, we are just reaching that point 8 seasons into the premier league, where for some people they are losing the appetite. My mum didn't go Sunday, usually I can find a MyAlbion+ to shift it to with ease, Saturday nobody was interested.

no, they seem to wait until there are around 100 ish left and when most 'pairs' are gone

Yep, you can certainly add general apathy to the list of reasons why gates are low at the moment. I do think the shocking transport situation and confusing/downright mean membership moneygrab are still also partly responsible.

8th Season Syndrome? Palace fans were right, it finally happened!

For me - many people I know are at least a little bit pissed off with the club's attitude to ticket reselling/how difficult it is to share season tickets with floating fans who could be converted, etc. My Dad's basically given up after his ticket was resold without him being told.

I understand all of the "well ACTUALLY, it's not quite that....etc etc" but I do still think it's poor form, personally.

Yeah definitely its an aspect, but I do think the appetite for some of those who maybe bought season tickets for the premier league, or those are just in all honesty just not really into it.
