No. Promotion at St Mirren along with a title and European success at Aberdeen - all on a shoestring and against comparable or far better resourced clubs - would suggest that he had talent long before he walked into probably the biggest job in the country.

Yes, but my post was in response to your assertion that Ferguson has probably spent about the same amount of money that Redknapp did. I replied by pointing out that one has won numerous trophies whereas the other has finished 4th twice.

To put it simply, Redknapp will do a shit job if he is asked to work with a budget comparable with competitors.
