That is scandalous. We had a mass demonstration @ Brookes, when the University eithdrew funding from all but 5 sports societies.

We went and played rugby, tug of war, hockey, football, tennis etc on the lawns outside theirs offices. Then went into the hall and started to bang our hockey sticks on the floor during their meeting shouting "Save our sports"

Have the SU carried out a referendum as to whether the majority are against the stadium? Unbelievable. I am just guessing, but most of the students will only live here for 3 yrs and this is Brightons whole future!!!! Lets take them on!!

Not sure what they are going to do to support them yet but it was decided at the AGM last week to support the residents in any way they can.

About three or four years ago, the USSU Debating Society had a debate where a motion was tabled condemning the plans for a stadium at Falmer.

The motion was heavily defeated.
