In fact, please, please ignore him. We have to let this slip off the front page before Chesney Christ gets home, or this thread is going to run to 30 pages!

Would have loved a arguement over this one but even me with my FILTHY RACIST views might struggle.

I might ban those religious zealots staying in my guest house though especially knowing they would be thumbing through there weird books.

Hold on maybe.........................................

Leaving aside the race issue. I personally think that if someone owns a place they should be able to ban whoever they want. Even if that includes "no Brighton fans" or "No whites".

If its your place surely you should be able to have anybody you want there.

If its your house I think you can providing you do not apply that to officials who have permission to enter.

The trouble occurs when you are offering a service or running a business.

Many pubs used to discriminate against football fans.

It's all very well you saying that people should be able to decide if they don't want black/Irish/ginger/gay/spotty/ugly/fat/albino people using their business.

But what if everyone did it? One person thinks it's ok, then a few more think "hey, I like that", and before you know it, every business in town decides they won't serve a particular type of person. Where do the persecuted minority go then?

And don't say it can't happen, as the white South African government managed to keep just such a plan going for years, as did Hitler with the Jews, and many Deep South towns and cities in the US until the civil rights movement kicked in.

As for that bit justifying discrimination because the Bible says homosexuality is wrong, well I believe if you look hard enough (and don't ask me, because I can't remember where it is), you can find a passage in the Bible that says thou shalt not wear mixed fibres.

And I'd bet a pretty penny that some of the Christian fundamentalists out there are wearing robes made of 50% cotton, 40% nylon, and 10% polyester.

If we deny everyone equality then we are all equal again surely.
