This has been coming for a while.

I think with all the stuff GG has done for REMF etc that it is shame he has been hounded out of here.

there are some people on here are are far too far up their own arses to realise some of the stuff aimed at certain individuals go beyond the boundries of banter....but hey as they say, its only a message board, what does it matter.


well out of this message board, GG and others raised in excess of £40,000 and have helped underrprivaledged kids in the US and over here so perhaps it does matter? Perhaps that will be gareths legacy.

You have probably noticed I do not post on here as much as I did, much really for the same reasons as gareths. Some of the personal abuse i received over the radio show was classic NSC "humour" , but to react to it is to be ragarded as some sort of wuss.

Exactly its only a message board and a very funny one at that. IMO Uncle Speilberg has been riled since the McGhee thing, so a cooling off period wouldn't be a bad idea. People get too wrapped up in the board, most of us don't post on here all the time, so don't get as involved. If you get very involved and take things personally its inevitable you're going to take a fall at some stage.

I hope Uncle Spielberg comes back, but to worry about being bullied on a football message board is beyond my comprehension.

I think the point is he has made several identical flounces to this in the past, including one just a couple of months ago, so it's impossible not to view this as yet more attention-seeking.

If and when something annoys me to the extent that I decide to leave, I will just go. I wouldn't take out a full-page ad in all the dailies advertising the fact.

There were at least 4 horse jokes on the Desert Orchid thread before US even posted, two of them by Dave the Gaffer. The theme had been set way ahead of anyone knowing his opinion on the matter. It only continued because of his high handed OTT approach to the subject. What's really worse, making a horse pun or calling someone a f-ing disgrace

I can't promise that nobody will ever disagree with you though, or heaven forbid that somebody might have a joke at your expense.

Sometimes people do go a little far, but I can only think of two posters who I would consider have been bullied. One of those has to a great extent brought it upon himself , and the other is bright enough to rise above it.

In hindsight, I shouldn't have started that. Clearly the gist was meant to be "Gareth, you may not comprehend that some people feel less of a sense of loss about the horse than you do - how do you feel about my dead guinea pig?"


Obviously it was meant tongue in cheek, but only somebody very very sensitive could see that as part of a campaign of bullying.

I have never intentionally hurt anybody's feelings on here, and if that did Gareth, apologies.

I mean Uncle Spielberg regularly posts racing 'tips' under 'comedy' thread names, INTENTIONALLY inviting abuse and ridicule. So we can assume taking the piss in those threads is okay.
