The sex pistols. Never mind the bollocks is an awesome album. Jonny Rotten and sid vicious are two iconic legends.

If i was being dispassionate, i would vote for Stevie wonder who was also incredible.

My favourite? Stevie Wonder or the Clash.

Who should win? David Bowie.

Simply the most impotant modern musician.

Is that supposed to be impotent or important?

Got to be Led Zepp, sold more albums,CDs, DVDs than all the others, as someone said, they had the best Drummer and Guitarist, also thought that John Paul Jones and Robert Plant were not bad, also although they 'invented' Heavy Metal, they wrote some of the most beautiful lyrics ether, as in 'Thank You' and 'Thats the way it is'.

Actually all listed are good in their own rights, although I always thought Queen were overrated, saw them once at Wembley, shortly after seeing Zep at Knebworth and it was a no contest.

Thing is with Queen they were a great band starting at the wrong time, think if theye started earlier they would have been up there. Agreed however a great band!!

Personally i think the Stranglers should have got a mention. Sex Pistols were the punk figure heads but the Stranglers were the real musicians who lasted well (at least up till Hugh Cornwall left).

A better programme last night. Choices were:

The Clash
Pink Floyd
The Sex Pistols
Led Zepplin
Abba
Elton John
David Bowie
Stevie Wonder
Queen
Bee Gees (it was worth watching it just to hear Sean Ryder stake his claim for them)
Surely a more representative list of 70's Artists would be:
David Cassidy
The Osmonds
The Bay City Rollers
Alvin Stardust
The Sweet
Slade
Suzi Quatro
Paper Lace
Barry Blue
Tina Charles

You don't have to be from the UK to be inducted - U2 are a founder member despite there being an Irish Music Hall of Fame for years now, and in the last show (80's) I disticntly remember Micheal Jackson, REM, etc being from the US...
