A better programme last night. Choices were:

The Clash
Pink Floyd
The Sex Pistols
Led Zepplin
Abba
Elton John
David Bowie
Stevie Wonder
Queen
Bee Gees (it was worth watching it just to hear Sean Ryder stake his claim for them)

I think you could make a case for all of those, but I went for Stevie Wonder - a prodigous talent and I just love the music from '72 to '76.

Who would you go for and why?

Ha ha, agree about the Shaun Ryder bit, he f***ing loves the Bee Gees.

It's a tough choice but personally I would go for Stevie Wonder, it's well difficult though as the choices are all massive artists and I only saw a few bits as was flicking between that and the predator.

being a child of the 90's its a toughie! but i absolutely love led zeppluin, pink floyd queen and the clash. in the end i would have voted for led zepplin because i truley believe they had the best drummer and guitarist of all time. and robert plant was just immense aswell! greatest band EVER

queen second

and then elton john

i agree that t-rex were fantastic aswell. shows the quality of that decade!

agreed the programme is unfair as some dross from the 90's may make in over one of these great artists

Ridiculous to have to vote for just one.

I voted for the Clash, on the basis that I thought they would need my vote more than some of the others.

At least eight deserve a place. But (probably) not Elton John or the Bee Gees.

Hmm. Haven't been watching the program, but surely if it's the UK hall of fame the artists have to be British?

I'd consider Pink Floyd but probably narrowly vote Bowie because he was so influential in the 70s. The others are all a bit derivative.

Why no mention for Jethro Tull?

What a bastard of a list ... I'd have to go for Queen, but it would pain me to leave out Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Led Zep and Elton John.

Queen for me, true legends.

Agreed, but considering they didn't really come to prominance until 1975, and arguably had more success in both the 80's and the 90's, are they listed in the right decade ?

Elton John or the BeeGees for me. I think Rod Stewart and Eric Clapton should have been amongst the finalists though. The Sex Pistols? Hmmm!
