He hasn't been overlooked, he's in the squad.

I don't find it particularly surprising that he isn't starting tonight; he only made his debut for the U-21s last September and only started ONE (out of ten) of the qualifying matches for this tournament.

He'll still be eligible to play in the next (two-year cycle) of this competition.

I completely disagree with that.

Presumably if he played he would have taken the place of one of Elliot Anderson, Alex Scott, Harvey Elliott or Tino Livramento. They all have significantly more experience than Hinshelwood does.

Can't help but feel there's some blue-and-white tinted spectacle wearing going on here.

I think it is worth pointing out that Hinshelwood is the third-youngest member of this 23-man squad - only Archie Gray and Ethan Nwaneri are younger.

That seems crazy for a goalkeeper. There can't be many in recent years who've done that as a professional at a decent level surely?
