Flip side of this is that Chelsea do have a history of selling for big money too - Hazard, Oscar and Morata are just three I can think of in recent years.

They made about £45M of player sales in the summer, as well as covering Lukakus loan fee. All helps
but it could have been a green light to spreading transfer fees over 8, 10, 12...years maybe

The wages are ludicrous at Chelsea. They need to qualify for Champions League for next 4 seasons and go quite far otherwise they’re going to have major financial issues.

Or you can look at it as Chelsea have needlessly handed out 8 year contracts to players they may not want in 3 years time and then laugh and laugh and laugh
On £0.5b of transfers all on 8 year contracts, just as an example, it would increase their FFP costs and annual accounts losses by £37.5m.
In addition, it nips this practice to circumvent FFP in the bud for all clubs planning to do it.

Well done UEFA. All they need do now is enforce these rules unflinchingly. IMO, there is a chance that these regs will bite enough that mega transfers don't happen; it could actually be a bit of a leveller.

Yes, it means they can get a load of players in now, but by doing this with so many of their signings, how much will then be available for them to spend next summer, or the summer after that? Might look good now, but it's probable their fans will be moaning in a couple of years because they can't go out and spend huge wads as much of their spending will already have been accounted for.

Because ‘anyone’ don’t have such ridiculous amounts of money that they can just put off a contract of x million and put their finances at risk giving silly contracts. Can’t you see what they are doing is loop hole cheating due to gross spending power and against all ethics? You’re really sticking up for the disgusting way Chelsea Football Club operate? Even many of their own actual fans don’t do that and acknowledge it’s wrong!

Yes but there’s way way way more players who have failed and just been paid off hugely expensive contracts. I wouldnt say they have a good history of player deals at all - see Drinkwater, De Bruyne, Salah and Lukaku to name just a few of their f*** ups in many different ways - horrible club that does nothing but damage football.
Mudryks contract is £100k a week allegedly, which isn’t that outrageous. And I would disagree it’s a ‘loophole’ because there was never a rule. Just no one ever did it. All it’s done is allowed them to pay inflated transfer fees - one of which we benefited from.
It’s good that UEFA have now put something in place though, as a bit naive it didn’t exist before. Similar to how HMRC would allow a company to write off a laptop or something

i really, really hope that all this blows up in their faces. Let’s hope many of these turn out to be total duds, stuck on CFC’s payroll for years. It appears to me that they are just mortgaging their future which is a disaster just waiting to happen, we hope.
