What is 'BG4'?

BG4 (BG means 'Big Game' as marketted to casuals) is the annual christmas league match that Harlequins shift to the Twickenham HQ across the road. It invites a capacity crowd and is now the biggest christmas attendance in any UK domestic christmas sports event.

How ludicrously bizarre.

I've just looked and they seem to get 12-14,000 for a normal home game. Who the hell are the 70,000 others who pop along for this one?

(As an aside, I notice they use the same online ticketing system as us)

There are lots of fans who aren't regulars and not a huge amount of season ticket holders. The average gate is made up of 50% STH and others who go occasionally. This game is one that EVERY fan of the club wants to go to because it is at twickenham and this year it is 1st against 2nd.

Hope this explains it, but reading back, it doesn't make too much sense

In football terms it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The only vaguely comparable thing I can think of is when Arsenal played Champions League games at Wembley all those years ago.

It sounds more like saying that on January 2nd we'll play our home game against Southampton at Wembley as it's a bit of a big game so we'll get a few more people in.

so, where do all these fans come from and why don't at least half of them go regularly? Is their stadium too small?
