I like Irani, dedicated to the sport, but with a smile on his face

Twenty20 is crap anyway. The league system is quite flawed (e.g playing 7 games and you can finish 4th in one league with more points than someone who finishes 3rd in another league and qualifys)

The novelty has worn off a bit for me

I f***ing hate 20/20, give me 40 overs or C+G anyday of the week.

f*** you Irani, we're going to Lords your not.

I hate Irani with a passion.

You used to be a very bad loser when you were a snotty nosed kid peeing up against the perimeter wall of the South Stand at The Goldstone.

Doesn't look as though much has changed Kev. You're still a bad loser too.

i like ronnie, he is one of the characters left in the game and just loves playing it - the way it should be. never forget that sky interview when they asked him what his gameplan was, and he just responded "i guess we'll just try and hit the ball as hard as we can"

incidentally, highlight of the game was no doubt me appaering on the big screen when i havent been to one twenty20 this season. john boy LOVED it anyway:love:

Highlight was me behind the Strictly Come Dancing champion during his interview.

Kev, Bob was there, why weren't you?

Heather and Kirtley were a disgrace:nono:

It may be crap, but the revenue generated for Sussex has meant an increase in the training budget and facilities have improved for the players.

If it wasnt for the 20-20 money I dont think we would be challenging for the championship.

Shame we did not qualify but the thing that REALLY hacks me off is bloody Surrey still managed to qualify despite us beating them twice.

From a purists point of view, 20/20 is a nightmare but from the spectator's perspective, it's fantastic. It can be a bit of a lottery because a few jammy top edges can make the difference between winning and losing.

I've seen a few games at the Rose Bowl and the punters love it. Revenue wise, it's also a winner.

On Sky Sports News last week, they interviewed David East the Chief Exec of Essex and he reckons that one night of 20/20 revenue brings in as much money as 2 AND A HALF YEARS worth of County Championship money, which is INCREDIBLE.

Like it or not, it's captured the imagination of people and won't go away in a hurry.

I like Ronnie Irani as well, despite what he did last night. He always comes across as a bit of a character.

so the world cup league system is equally flawed then ??? (eg a team could qualify for the quater finals on 2 points finishing second in one league and a team could not qualify finishing on 6 points in another)
