Twenty Ten, much easier to say.

The last 10 years we have been saying Two Thousand and One, Two etc is because saying "Twenty 0 One" sounds spasticated!

Twenty ten.

No doubt some people will start saying two thousand ten, adopting the hideous Americanism of droping the "and"

Twenty ten, that is the way we should be saying it. No one says one thousand ninehundred and ten they say ninteeen ten.

What's the worry. We all know the yanks have to change the way everyone else does things because they don't have much of a history themselves, eg ten sixty six, sixteen sixty six etc. They've only got about 300 years apart from the native history they begrudgingly acknowledge which, from what I can tell didn't change much for very long periods of time. They'll change back to our system next century although I won't be here to see it!

I rarely stay consistent with these things. I will probably call it "twenty-ten", "two thousand ten", "two thousand and ten", probably even the inaccurate "oh-'ten" at various times over the next year.

Twenty Ten, of course. Just like we all say Nineteen Ten, Eighteen Ten etc.

I've been saying twenty oh nine, too - just like we all say nineteen oh nine, eighteen oh nine etc. Why change what works?
