And if you could, in what circumstances? When is homicide (or murder if you're British) justifiable?

And more interestingly, have you ever killed anyone? :ohmy:

Here and There
Only if my family were in danger or were murdered. I feel i'd have to do something about it.

If someone broke into my flat then they'd get a slap :)

Giving serious thought to this poser, I would have to say that it's on the cards (but not committed by NMH yet).
Hating and despising someone enough could lead to wanting them dead, but carrying out the deed yourself requires either a cold perspective toward human life, or a very hot one regarding the gravity that your hatred may posess.

If you walked in on your spouse (or fiance) in bed with another, crime of passion may take your reasoning into the violent state 'seeing red'. There would not be sense in killing the other person, but your spouse would be the guiltier party in knowing what they are doing. It would therefore be an act of blind passionate rage. Killing the bitch or arsehole would be bad, but somehow understandable .

In self-defence, from a threat of bodily harm, rape, or accidentally in a self-defensive moment.

Protecting family or friends from an attacker.

Acting in a war, as required, and in order to protect one's home and family.

If opressed greatly, or humiliated, I think many of us might resort to the ultimate judgement over another .

There have been horrific murders in Brighton before, and a couple stick out in my mind particularly;
The brutal attack on a man in the toilet of the Green Dragon (I believe it was that pub) where a bloke was apparently kicked to death and no-one witnessed or heard anything(!) - I believe it happened in the middle of the day.

The loutish murder of tourist Oliver Lampe, chased down and senselessly knifed to death by a thug for speaking in his own German language (?) and for 'being foreign'.

Anyone know if either crime was solved?
