The time we won up there when Lopez scored some of them got right arsey after the game over a framed photo of Bryan Robson.
If we get a result I won't be hanging around.
This isn't a day trip to Fulham.

It really isn't all over if we don't do it, but I'm not thinking about that right now

Win, lose or draw next Saturday, I am determined to try and enjoy the whole thing. Travelling all that way then not making the most of it would be pointless (no pun intended).

Spot on. We'll have to try and pick ourselves up, and convey that on to the players too, so they can turn their attention to the next game ahead with as positive a frame of mind as is possible in the circumstances.

Exactly. If it all goes pear-shaped in the next couple of games, we have an additional opportunity for promotion. Three more games, yes, but with this squad I'd back us to the hilt.

With the added benefit of a day out in Sheffield and possibly the better alternative of blue-and-white-striping Wembley.

Will be watching on the screens at Falmer and keeping the rest of the day free. What a weekend it will be and hoping celebrations spill over into Brighton town centre.

My wife has described me as being like a kid before Christmas......for the last month.

I'm just lucky she gets football otherwise I think I'd have been out on my ear in a classic "you love that bloody football team more than me type scenario" (who says I don't, right?)

Of course they have.

We weren't happy.

True. But weren't Southampton as good as promoted anyway, with their superior goal difference? I seem to remember the only way we could realistically go up was if Spurs lost.

If you think it'll be bad for us in the ground if Boro win, imagine what it'll be like for the players. The inevitability of a pitch invasion means they'll have to make their way off surrounded by thousands of celebrating Smoggies, a few of whom won't be particularly graceful about it.

I remember some lardy Derby fan giving it the large one to several of our players after the play off game up there, which I thought was particularly small of him given the ease with which they'd won, and the complete lack of animosity between the teams. The players were herded into the corner by the travelling supporters, completely surrounded, until some stewards made their way across and escorted them back.

This is why I was desperately hoping it could be both of us going up. Sadly, it's all but certain to be one or the other.

Well, we all need to visualise, clearly and precisely, Knockers scoring the winner next Saturday. Then it will happen. It can be an exercise in positive thinking and projection.

You had to pick Knockhaert didn't you? A Skalak 40 yard volley is easy enough to visualise but Knockhaert skipping round 6 defenders?

I'll be desperately disappointed if we don't get autos but surely it can't be a worse feeling than the palace play off game and all that came with it in the immediate aftermath can it?

If the worst possible scenario was to happen (we miss autos and don't win the play-offs), I am convinced that we will have an even stronger team next season and we would storm to the title. We are now battle-hardened. I don't think it will come to that, however.

True - but how many of our squad will we have left?

I have visions of us getting absolutely battered all game and Dunk popping up to score to level the game and running the length of the pitch ear cupped to the crowd.

Correct response is 'I love Palace more than you, what's that got to do with it.......'
