Not so much trying to shift the emphasis as much as pointing out the rank hypocrisy and double standards by going after one while giving the other a free pass, purely along political lines.

Nah mate … it has nothing to do with politics and all to do with him being a loathsome, corrupt lying piece of excrement …. the fact that you are defending him with a bit of what about are speaks volumes …..

He's an irrelevance. He's still being discussed because many people, myself included, want to see him genuinely held to account for his behaviour over several decades. His followers like to think he's some kind of genius, but in truth, he's just like any crook. They all get discovered and they all get their comeuppance. His day will come.

In the meantime, now there are grown ups in the White House, the Country is much better off and bills and legislation have a chance of going through. Not much chance, because of the childish and obstructionist behaviour of the minority party, but a chance nonetheless.

You pretty much make the point I’m trying to make; you just want to see him held accountable for his behavior over “several decades” without saying exactly what you want him held accountable for. Simply being a c*** isn’t a crime.

As for the current occupants of the White House, you haven’t a clue about them or their policies, but hey, they’re “grown ups”. You know absolutely nothing about what bills or legislation they’re trying to push through, but to oppose them is “childish and obstructionist”. You’re just repeating the same old throwaway lines used by people who don’t really know what they’re talking about.

And you don’t want to see him anywhere near a courtroom because you know he’s ****ed hence the ‘it’s politically motivated bollocks’. The trump organisation is being indicted for tax evasion, something that which has been going round the block for years. The only president that didn’t publish his tax records …. I wonder why … perhaps we are about to find out.

As I posted previously the fact that you are defending him speaks volumes …..

On NSC for over two decades...
The trump organisation is being indicted for tax evasion, something that which has been going round the block for years.

This was in part because the Trump Organisation refused to release its tax records under subpoena and the case went to the US Supreme Court.

Maybe we have some of the genuine fruit loop Q-Anon types actually here on NSC in plain view ? In order to deny Trump's misdemeanours, lies. stupidity, ignorance and narcissism it takes a special sort of person to stand so wholeheartedly with such an ogre, they have to have been nobbled by conspiracy theorists or bought in so early they can't admit their man has done so many things wrong.

Trump will never be Convicted of anything - You have to convince a 12 man or woman Jury that he is Guilty and guaranteed his Lawyers would get one Pro Trump on to that Jury who will never convict no matter what.

Dragging through all the hassle of the Courts, I am happy with that and him having to go into Court every day will suit me just fine because that could expose some of his personal issues because despite the claim that he never drinks or takes drugs. I find him so incoherent sometime that I have a feeling that he is addicted to some sort of Prescription Drugs and when someone has to be in the Public Eye on Camera every day I think you will see the real incoherent person that he is.

If you listen to the full call when he tried to get Brad Rathensperger to find the 11,000 extra Votes for him in Georgia - He sounds absolutely plastered on that call

It will be like a few good men all over again

There's a thread here: https://twitter.com/kurteichenwald/status/1410676547124707336 from Kurt Eichenwald (a New York Times reporter and author) that I found interesting. I'm not an expert on the US loans system, so I don't know if this is right but I thought it was interesting. It's a multi-tweet thread so I"m copying and pasting instead of inserting all the tweets and having to account for the tweet embedding replies sometimes.

As someone who has written for decades about corporate crime, I was reading the Trump O/Weisselberg indictment going, "Yah, ok..hmm..yah..ok..Wait..HOLY SH**!" The Trump Org is in deep, deep trouble. And not because of the criminal charges. Because of its bank loan covenants.../1
...in fact, if even the smallest bit of this case is true, I think the Trump Org could be dead. It's complicated, but it primarily pertains to the 12th count of the indictment.
...this means it cannot readily convert its assets into cash as needed. Worse, because of the incredible incompetence and business idiocy of Trump, cash on hand (and access rapid loans through what is known as the commercial paper market) is small. So, the company survives.../3
...on loans against assets. Trump originally depended on bank loans, then jumped into high-yield (junk) bond market, which is why so many of his businesses went bankrupt: Junk bonds gave him lots of cash to spend, but he was too stupid to apply an analysis beyond "I'm great".../4
...to figure out how he was going to generate enough cash to pay interest on bonds. He couldn't. With his dad, he tried laundering money through Trump Castle to get past a requirement with his bank loans brought on by his junk debt, but got caught. Everything crashed down.../5
Kurt Eichenwald
...so, the bottom line: Trump knows how to borrow money, he doesn't know how to manage it. Then came The Apprentice, which gave him lots of cash. Of course, he spent it all, then used assets he purchased as security to borrow from banks on apparent assumption that "I'm great"...6
...would fix any cash flow problems. He now has huge amounts of debt against assets that are plummeting in value because of January 6 and his toxic brand name. He *needed* the presidency to survive financially. I have always believed, that is why he is so desperate to keep it...7
....because if he was president, he could hit up the Russians, Saudis, etc to bail him out. Now, with him toxic and a threat to the country, those nations know that any secret payments they make to him run a huge risk of being discovered.
Which brings us to today's charges...8
...all bank loans with a business come with "lending covenants." These are basically a series of requirements, some of which include "you'll behave" in minor character. But *the most important part* of any loan covenant is the "books and records" portion. It is included in.../9
...every covenant for a bank loan to a business. The terms are simple: You maintain truthful books and records, you attest to us that they are truthful, and we are allowed to review them at any time. There is no "You can lie *just a little bit* on your books and records".../10
...it's all or nothing, like pregnancy: You either are or you arent. The books and records either are truthful or they aren't. Which brings us to count 12, which I think you can now understand the significance of:
E5PAYw-WQAUm5M6.png
...Forget Weisselberg. That is every every corporate defendant, every entity that could have a loan covenant in its name. Every Trump Org bank lender in the world, right now, is looking at this indictment, looking at their covenants, and calling the Trump Org demanding.../12
...they turn over every relevant book and record pertaining to these issues. If they refuse...BOOM. Loans pulled. If they do and the banks don't like what they see...BOOM. Loans pulled. If the loans come due (which 100s of millions do next year) no way they get refinanced..../13
...there may be something I am missing here, but I do not see how the Trump Org survives this without some sort of corrupt deal overseas. But even that seems far-fetched. Instead, it may be the biggest real estate corp bankruptcy in history..../14
......and given that those of us who covered his business for decades - back when he was a democrat/reform party/whoever would have him - and always knew he was a crook, all I can say is, what the hell took so long?

"The Trump Organization has more than $590 million of debt coming due within the next four years with more than half personally guaranteed by Trump. This includes $100 million on Trump Tower in Manhattan maturing next year and $125 million due in 2023 for the Trump Doral golf resort near Miami." https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-07-01/trump-organization-charges-magnify-risks-of-debt-refinancing

More proof, if it were needed, that he's just Putin's poodle and -- whether they like it or not -- Trump's supporters have been doing Putin's work for him:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-show-putins-plot-to-put-trump-in-white-house

The Russian administration's view of Trump: “impulsive, mentally unstable and unbalanced individual who suffers from an inferiority complex”. That's a succinct summary in my view.

I don't think we need the Russians to confirm what most people over here and 50% ish of Americans can see already !

I get your point but they did make that assessment in 2016.

Well, many on here weren't far behind that date... Incredible that such an idiotic moron can still seem to have a hold on the Republican Party 5 years later.

"They agreed a Trump White House would help secure Moscow’s strategic objectives, among them “social turmoil” in the US and a weakening of the American president’s negotiating position."

Got to hand it to the Russians, they had that right.

That doesn’t say much for the 50% of American dunderheads who still think he’s the most wonderful American of all time.

True but don’t big him up.

“His ratings among all adults stands at 32 percent favorable, 55 percent unfavorable, which is down from his rating in January (40 percent favorable, 53 percent unfavorable among registered voters), as well as where he was in the poll right before the election (43 percent favorable, 52 percent unfavorable among registered Voters).”
