That always seems to be the feedback they get. It astounds me how underrated nursing is in this country when she tells me some of the stories of things she has to do on a day to day basis. I couldn’t do what her and her colleagues do.

Seen it first hand myself recently with my granddaughter, hence the charity stuff to try and help them out a bit. So so underrated, underfunded and at times, unappreciated. Everyone of them deserve all of the plaudits that they receive

My son was saved by the unit having been born in the Princess Royal and rushed down there (he was resuscitated on the hard shoulder of the A23). He spent a number of months in there. My wife's mother had died a few months earlier and we bought an incubator in her memory for the unit.

A superb unit run by true angels.
