Travel subsidy [NOT] being scrapped for next season?

If they do remove the travel subsidy it will make the whole day out very expensive if you factor in Beers and food as well. There would surely have to be a reduction in price if they removed the free travel.

Anyone remember if they told us last year what the prices would be if we got promoted? The cost of travel every other week would probably means it ends up costing more than this

What sort of railcard can you use on that journey? Certainly not my Network Railcard as I believe the original ticket has to be more than £13 for it to be used.

Network Railcard has no minimum on a weekend (but would still be £13 for midweek games).

£13 minimum fare applies on weekdays, but not on weekends and public holidays. So you can't use a Network Card for local journeys to mid-week evening games, but you can for Saturdays and any games on Sundays or holidays

I don't think there are minimum fares for other types of railcards, for those who are entitled to buy them:
Two Together, Family & Friends, Senior, Young Persons, Disabled

Keep saying it, travel subsidy needs WAY more fine tuning.

- Brighton line commuters? Don't need the portion from Haywards Heath into Brighton as its covered by rail ticket (ditto anyone commuting from East or West sussex into Brighton)
- Park n Ride user? Not sure if this is covered by Travel subsidy, but if it isn't then there's another potential saving. and if say three people use that car, presumably the travel subsidy should onlty by applid per car rather than per passenger
- Cyclist/semi-legal parker near the ground/pedestrian - you're paying for something you don't use

See no reason at all why the club shouldn't look at ways of stopping pissing money up the wall in the direction of the transport providers. There's a huge saving to be made by the club by fine-tuning the arrangements. Or if the club prefer to apply a broad brush, maybe make the travel subsidy only apply between Brighton and Lewes. That would treat just about everybody fairly. IMHO, like.

The main trouble with these plans is that no one wants to pay for them,any subsidy distorts the market.IMO the only people that need help are the disabled .

That's an average, i.e. a mean. Remember, if Bill Gates goes into Moe's Bar, the average customer is a billionaire.

For comparative purposes, the major league minimum salary for US baseball is £330,000 p/a.

So £500,000 a year for the Championship, while high, doesn't seem crazy.
