Thanks for your reply Insider, but you haven't addressed the question, so I'll put it a different way.

Wife and I both have a season ticket. Wife can't go to match. I take both tickets to match and agree to meet mate in club shop so he can use wife's ticket to get in with me.

As mate doesn't have season ticket to use P & R to get to Amex, can he buy a single match travel pass to get to the Amex to meet me in the shop?

Strictly speaking your friend needs a ticket or season ticket to gain travel, so you would need to get the ticket to him in advance. I will raise this with the operations team and ticket office, to confirm.
