Welcome to the mad house that is the transfer window!

I for one was looking forward to it, the chance to strengthen the squad in our push for the play-offs. But I had forgotten that as well as new players coming in we might have to lose some as well, and ones we might not want to go. Just look at NSC today, its f***ing mad. We have this frenzy for a few weeks then all of a sudden its all over and our heart rates return to normal.

So I want the transfer window to be buried so that we can return to the good old days. What do you think?

I'm sure my blood pressure which is already high is even higher.

At least when the dust settles on Friday morning we can see who we have left to put out against Crewe on Saturday!

Nah - this is brilliant. The first transfer window that we've ever DONE something - players coming and going all over the shop - superb entertainment, and HOPEFULLY has got the right results.

Still need a midfielder though, but you never know what tomorrow may bring.

It's a friggin' joke, and I actually believe it's partly to blame for all of the managerial changes. Think about it, if a manager comes into a club say at the beginning of September, has a poor couple of months still working with the squad the previous manager had, how the HELL is he supposed to keep his job? The fickle fans would call for his head and chances are the board wouldn't hesitate in terminating his employment. It's hurting the clubs in the lower leagues too, clubs who only survive on selling their star players, how can they possibly survive without selling these players? They're bound to end up in administration and then lose all their players when the transfer window does reopen (Luton Town the obvious example).

Gotta agree wth everything you say. Anybody remember whether the window is the result of some (maybe EEC) law, or is it just some FIFA geeks brainchild?

The window was introduced in response to negotiations with the European Commission.

The rule makers
Andreas Herren, Fifa spokesman:

"We set up the rules, which comply with European regulations.

"Each association has two transfer periods a season - one during the closed season and the other during the midway part of the season.

"This period is limited to four weeks but it is up to the associations when they have it."

i think its GREAT - there hasnt been a dull moment in it so far due to the fact we have been one of the most active clubs. compare it to two seasons ago, when we got LOFT in and it has been superb
