I noticed, while at Brighton Station today, that there are no trains this weekend between Three Bridges and Brighton, and I think on the west line from Brighton.

I am looking forward to seeing how Connex South Central manage to get about 3000 people away from Preston Park Station on replacement buses.

On the one occasion last season that I risked the replacement buses when there were no trains, the driver had been told to go straight to Haywards Heath with no intermediate stops.

Luckily, I and a couple of others managed to pursuade him to do a head count of who wanted to go where. Nobody wanted to go as far as Haywards Heath and good sense prevailed - he ran a stopping service.

Think I'll take the car this Saturday to be safe!

Bastard trains! Park and ride for me this week then! It's fine on the way there I just don't like either waiting for the bus or walking up the hill to get back to the car.:(

Try using Mithras House then, if it's possible.

Not only do you not have to wait so long to get a bus in the first place (assuming you watch the end of the game), but there's no hill to walk up at the end.

Assuming the bus makes it over the hill at Coldean Lane, that is - after the Forest game last year, the one I was on caught fire!!

Thameslink site says it's between Three Bridges and Brighton. I've normally caught a coach when the trains have been buggered but National Express have cancelled the 4.55 one that stops outside the ground. Bastards!

Is there anyone coming down from London who can give me lift? Otherwise I think I might have to give it a miss :-(

I'm really pissed off as thanks to my holiday I haven't seen any footie since the Brentford game.

FFS I am now going to have to get to Waterhall by 10 in the morning, then to Withdean, then to somewhere to watch Wales and then home.

I would drive but I'll probably be over the limit on Saturday morning.

You were on the same bus as me then. :lolol:

We had this crap several times last season. pain in the ass. I caught one of these "train replacement" busses last season. The bus was from the same era as something I would have gone to school on. The driver was from North Kent and had little idea where he was going, following directions from some halfwitted railway ticket collector. Everytime he changed gear, the whole bus shuddered and a strange whinning noise could be heard for about 20 seconds! When we went up a hill, we were overtaken by zimmer frames!

I'll be getting the number 5 or the park n ride on Saturday!
