Was back in Lancing about 7. Had a lift.

We were on ST01 which was the first coach to move. Driver quickly gave up on traffic at the end of Imperial Road so turned around (quite impressively in a small space) and went back down Imperial Road. Still didn't get onto Wandsworth Bridge until 6:15pm but avoided trying to get onto Kings Road and the other hold ups. Back in Worthing for 8:15pm although not sure why we went onto the M25 at Leatherhead rather than go straight down the A24.

Terrible driving conditions down the M23 to cap off the hell of getting out of Hammersmith & Fulham!

I dare anyone to complain again about the Amex and our transport set up.
I was on ST3 last night. We saw the Worthing coach do an impressive U turn at the top of the road. We were the fifth coach to leave and got to the traffic lights queue at 5:22
The lights changed every 8 minutes and allowed one coach through if the exit was clear. Took about 45 minutes to get out but driver went right instead of left and had a free run. Met a small 24/7 minibus somewhere in Fulham.
Darren up front was on the phone to the other coaches and all we got was a number of coaches were still in Imperial Road.

No trains or tube yesterday, don’t forget. It’s a fairly easy stadium to get away from otherwise. Not sure the same can be said with no trains running to and from the Amex. We’ll see when we play Palace

when we had no trains last season it did not take 2 hours to travel 1 mile. It would have been so easy to avoid as well if the police were bothered.

The difference is BHAFC think about their fans and laid on extra buses and had contingency plans in force.

Maybe we need to turn the clock back to the hooligan years. All coaches were guaranteed a police escort away from the ground with traffic stopped to provide a speedy exit.

That way no need to worry about sitting in traffic just the attack on the run back to the coach and bricks being thrown at the windows.

Was on ST08. Going up we diverted via Leatherhead junction then up via Chessington and Ewell to join the A3 south of Tollworth. Not sure why he didn't leave the M25 at junction 10 and use the A3 all the way up as that's what he did on the way back!

First and, almost certainly, the last time I ever travel to football via a coach. It is the most tedious way. No drinking en route, only get to the ground in time to throw a couple of pints down your neck and then that tiresome exit from Chelsea.

Yep, made the same decision after Bournemouth. Left the Amex at 2pm for an 8pm ko, and got home about 1am. Did have a stop at the UK’s worst service station on the way down (because we’d left too early).
