Isn't a ria a flooded estuary?
Incidentally does that make Cardiff a Dai ria?

A ria is a coastal inlet formed by the partial submergence of an unglaciated river valley. It is a drowned river valley that remains open to the sea.

This is a term I hadn't heard of before-, which is great because now I can honestly say that I have spent the last 30 minutes bettering myself educationally, rather than wasting my time reading NSC- aint football grand!
