On the ocean wave
I'll have to have a major think about this, but a few that spring to mind immediately are:

Peter Ward, home to Swindon, '77 or '78. Picked it up in his own half & ran towards the South Stand goal, beating half the Swindon team before slotting it in.

Jimmy Case free kick in the semi-final '83

Giles Stille, diving header at home vs Saints. I think it was around '84. (Anyone remember?)

THAT Dean Wilkins free kick vs Ipswich.

Bloody hell I'm going to be remembering Albion goals all night now!

p.s. Willie Irvine vs Villa, '72.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Just back from walking the dogs and still no news on Falmer!

Thought I would offer a distraction with my top ten.

Firstly I have to include both of Stuart Munday's wonder goals. I felt an affinity with him when I saw him warming up clearly clutching an asthma inhaler. So that's the long-range effort at Leicester and the overhead kick at Birmingham, both memorable games in their own right.

Next up is Robbie's club-saving poach at Hereford, never ever to be forgotten.

Now rather oddly another brace, this time from Robert Codner. Away at Plymouth from the centre circle and away at Blackpool, again from distance.

Another goal from a defender - Virgo's late, late appearance in the penalty box against you-know-who. Even though I was here at my PC listening to Seagulls World, it's still memorable.

What is it with defenders? Already covered, Chappers' great curler in to the top corner against our "south-coast rivals". Again as memorable for the game as the goal, but great anyway. I was behind the goal and can picture it curling away with Bartram floundering.

Next up, a beauty and this time it's a striker. I can remember the goal but the details are fading away with time. Away at Orient, the scorer one of the Fox brothers (I think Simon but I'm not sure now) Byrne and McDougald in the build-up. I think Byrne is is trapped by a defender close to the touch-line. He rolls his foot over the ball and releases Junior who runs down the line, beats a defender and puts over a great cross for a diving Fox to head past the keeper. Don't remember the game or the score, just a great goal from a promising youngster.

Another Striker, Wardy away at Forest. Super, super goal that summed up what he was capable of.

And finally, I've no idea who scored it but I can't forget it. When we won 1-0 at White Hart Lane in the first division. We scored, cue crowd ecstasy, cue punch in the face from a huge Spurs fan in front of me who had been drinking from a Whisky bottle with his mates all through the game. Like I say, no idea who scored, but memorable because it's the only time I've been hit in a football stadium.

i was pissed at the time and on the shelf, but i seem to remember it being Robinson.

by the way, no mention of the nelson goal against arsenal, it looked good from where i was.

Anyone remeber Dean Wilkins volley from a corner in front of the South Stand against Hull. !992-3??

Nogan away at Wigan Springfield Park, last minute, not a great goal but went beserk!

Paul Dickov, last minute against Plymouth midweek. North Bank went crazy. Matty Edwards against Pompey i the Cup although the best thing was watching them celebrate the equaliser which was off-side.

Ian chapman pulling one back against Bournemouth and then Paul Mcarthy nodding the equaliser. ONe og the best recent games in the North Stand.

Dean Wilkins free kick beauty into the top right hand corner vs Ipswich in the last minute that beat them after Kiwomya had equalised and got us into the '91 play offs.

Some of the ones that I remember that haven't been mentioned yet:
Kit Napier v.P'boro(H) 1966-His 1st goal for the club, nearly took the back out of the net from 30 yds out.He scored another that day in a 5-2 win
Michael Robinson v. Liverpool(H)1981?-
Cut in from the left and let fly into North goal without breaking stride. We were 2 up inside 9 minutes but let it slip and it finished 2-2
Eddie Spearritt v.Oldham(A) 1972- A free kick from the left hand side that rocketed in before the 'keeper could move.A bitterly cold January day made better by a 4-2 win
Paul Clark v.L.Orient(A) 1978?-Probably the best goal "The Tank" scored for the Albion, from all of 35 yards out. securing a 1-0 win .
Peter Ward v. Derby C.(H)1976- A cool finish after only 37 secs.before a packed Goldstone ,in a League cup game.It finished 1-1 and we lost the replay 2-1 after giving them a second half battering
Martin Chivers v.L.Orient 1979- A thumping header from the ex-England International (his only goal for the club) in a great game that finished 3-3

Sam's Dad. Somebody else saw Paul Clark's goal at the Orient as well. Wasn't that a last minute goal in a 3-3 draw?

My memory might have got mixed up though.

The goals against milwall in 91' playoff semi were mental celebrations, and storers V doncaster is one in my memory.

however recent goals that are good in my memory, paul watson away @ southend when we lost 2-1, 30 yard curler into top corner. paul brookers goal away @ orient when we won 2-0, a class slick move, and a nice cheeky flick from zamora to set him up, sidwell @ norwich- everyone went bezerk, as well as zamoras 'goal' @ bradford, cullips to clinch the title v cheats, and la la la rougiers second @ ipswich just for the moment and celebration.

He did score a late equaliser in the 3-3 draw but I think he scored against the O's the previous season -or maybe it's my memory that's playing tricks.

The best combination goal was Willie Irvine's goal against Aston Villa in the same 1971 season.

Yep, that's still one of my favourites too. It was the first Albion game I saw with a really big time atmosphere - on Match of the Day too.
Anyone remember Alan Duffy's debut goal (against Bradford?) from a similar era. Gary Williams' long range effort to clinch a 1-0 win against Clough's Forest (European Champions at the time?) was pretty special too. I had to watch that match on the North East terrace with the Forest fans as the rest of the Goldstone was packed out.

Adam Virgo's goal is my number two.

Robbie Reinhelt's as well, not least because of Craig Maskell had the presence of mind to curl the shot around the keeper to hit the post, unlike Gordon Smith who put the ball where the keeper could sit on it.
