now they say the car wont start because the starter motor isnt working. Was working fine before i took it there.
What are my legal rights ?
These things happen. If you ask someone to prod about under your bonnet and it induces a dormant fault then its hardly the garages fault.
If the car is under warranty then no problem. But if its an old car then replacing a starter motor is one of those things that happen.
You seem to be implying that you think the garage owe you somehow? Unless this was a newish starter motor and you can prove that somehow they have damaged it or shortened its life then I suggest you stop trying it on and pay the bill. Or collect the car and take it elsewhere.
You could legally buy a new starter motor?
think you might be missing this guys point he seems to think the garage have cocked up or disconected the starter moter on purpurs to make money
which i thinks wrong, give the starter moter a wack with a hammer that usualy frees them and see how it goes for a wile if it jams again then its time for a change
best of luck
