With Portsmouth crashing to a 4-0 defeat at Chelsea today and Man United next up to visit Fratton Park followed by a testing trip to Everton could 3 defeats on the spin at the start of the season herald an ultimately unsuccessful fight against relegation this season for Meridian's favourites? Probably not and sad to say it would seem likely that the 3 teams promoted to the Prem last season look good bets to go straight back down but for now it's a happy dream.

Surely the fact that they exist makes it the duty of all right thinking Albion fans to despise them?
