Deep south
The grand old duke of York tune.

When Trossards attacking you,
You don’t know what to do
He turns you inside out
And he’s only tiny too….

Perhaps the old farts on NS chat could come up with some original songs which we could all have a go at.
At the back of the North Stand we just sing whatever will get the crowd supporting the team. It is bloody hard work most matches. The support is more important than the words in my opinion.
At the Goldstone I fondly remember “hit him on the head with a baseball bat”. Crap lyrics but got the North Stand going!

Tip toe
Through the north stand
With your boots on
Get your head kicked in
Come tip toe
Through the north stand
With me.

I’m a bow legged chicken
And a knock kneed hen
We ain’t lost a fight since we don’t know when
We don’t give a wiggle and we don’t give a ****
We are the brighton
North stand.

Don revie said to bill shankleeeee
Have you heard of the north bank highbureee
Shanks said no, I don’t think so,
But I’ve heard the brighton aggro!

I was thinking along these lines.

"Hello Boys"
....

"How are you enjoying you first season up here in West Upper?"
....

"Did your mums buy you the tickets as an early Christmas present, or did you save up from your after school jobs, like I did when I was your age?"
....

We'll see how the conversation progresses before I mention things like the way the manager likes to set up with a deceptive possession based approach, with increasing use of penetrative balls from the back, with rapid recovery and regrouping when a chance is not on, and that this is sophisticated football, not 'shit'.

I doubt I'll need to even think about getting into issues like ******* (societal attitudes, myths about spots, and the dangers of doing it while wearing you mum's undies when you though everyone had gone out). ???

I like a nice chat.

Kid A: "**** off, old man, the football's over there."

Kid B: "Touch tight!"

Fair point. The new Curacella one, Shane Duffy. And I think that's it.

Nothing for regulars like Trossard, Burn, Sanchez, Maupay. Someone needs to get thinking!

Maybe we need a man with a megaphone and a drum? Oh, and black onesies!

I hate that song along with the Zaha one and the 'rapey' Arron Connolly one.

All of them can get f*cked

Yup

Can I make myself exceptionally unpopular in certain quarters and add the one about shooting the Palace scum.

I KNOW it's 'traditional' and not really an actual incitement to shoot anyone.

But it sounds pathetically childish, won't ever get the whole stand (let alone the whole stadium) singing and some traditions need to be left in the past.

That, the nasty Wilfried Zaha one, and "We pay your benefits". Several little oiks were attempting to get that going at Selhurst last week. Most of them looked about fifteen: I remember thinking what a lovely gesture it is for them to be donating their pocket money to the DWP or the local food bank.

I'm also so bored of "You burned your own town". Jeez: that was years ago. Move on

The Zaha one is horrible and I have never liked the "we pay your benefits" or the "got get your fathers gun" etc.. tasteless. However, in the context of the Arsenal game, and in the minority here, I have to admit the TB song made me chuckle a bit.. doesn't make sense in any other context though.

Sounds like kin of the freshly-hatched newbies sitting behind me, as mentioned earlier.

I accept that the youves have a 'right' to express their partizanship in the manner to which they wish to become accustomed but, by the same token, we older folk have the right to mock them. The pricks.

Quite a few of us have come up with an original Cucurella song.

Whether people like them or not is another matter, but we've had a go. :)

Not wishing to quibble with someone who onced enjoyed the comfort of the back of my car but if quite a few of you came up with the same song it can't be original can it? Unless you are part of some sort of multinational consortium, like the authors of 'Don't they Know It's Christmas'. Frankly, I'm intrigued.

That's just from page one of a title search for 'Song' you will also find efforts in every new signing thread.

My point is, the lack of decent songs is not because no one on NSC has tried to come up with anything.

I just sigh that every new chant seems to have been stolen/adapted from somewhere else.

It's as if folk can't make up their own. Always impressed by original stuff.
