Wycombe appoint Adams

Former Arsenal and England defender Tony Adams has been unveiled as the new manager of Wycombe.
Adams has taken his first job in football management on the back of a ringing endorsement from former Wycombe manager Martin O'Neill.

The Celtic manager is believed to have advised Adams to use Wycombe as his first step into management.

Adams' adviser Steve Kutner said that his client had been offered several jobs and had taken the decision after serious consideration.

Former Tottenham assistant manager John Gorman had been acting as caretaker boss following the sacking of Lawrie Sanchez.

Talk Sport were saying this am that it may be too much of a strain for him with him fighting the resistence to drink on daily basis and the strains of managemnet may be too much. Im prepared to give him a chance and a pity he was overlooked down here as he mayve been able to sort the defence out and show cullip how to play football!

This is one appointment that interests me - I think Tony Adams will make a great manager - well I hope he does anyhow - he's put in a great deal of effort and has a large contact base as well....

lets see if he can make the conversion...
