Tonight's sunset

Looking out my window in London earlier, I saw the most amazing sun set. Deep reds pinks oranges and purples all catching the bottom of the clouds.

How lucky to be alive. :)

A beautiful mottled salmon-pink sunset right across north essex / hertfordshire tonight.

Or is it a house on fire?

What are you doing at home on November 5th anyway? Isn't all leave cancelled on Bonfire Night? Shouldn't you be running down the road with your hose out?

Yup, all leave cancelled
I am on call from home tonight. Out last night and out already tonight, all down to out of control bonfires.
Based just on tonight's call, me and one of the other fellas on the appliance calculated the cost of the call tonight (3 Rescue Appliances mobilised following multiple calls from members of the public) to be a tad over £3,600 :nono:

Can we have an entire thread featuring the beautiful photography of NSC, it would be great to organize all these works into one place that we can repeatedly build up and look to for inspiration!

We should have a photographic competition on here...I have just been given a new mobile phone with a 2 megapixel camera on it, haven't tried it out yet...anyone else up for the challenge?

the pier and Sussex Heights looked great against it,
To bring this whole thing round full circle, I must say that the sunRISE looked lovely through very bleary eyes from Sussex Heights this morning. And, through the Downs and it's fog everywhere - Brighton is so cool that it even gets its own weather.

They went on forever, they... when I... we lived in arizona, and ahh... the skies always had little fluffy clouds in them and ahh....

They were long and clear, and there were lots of stars... at night...

And ahh... when it would rain it would all turn... it... they were beautiful, the most beautiful skies as a matter of fact. ahh...

... and the sunsets were... purple and red and yellow and blue on fire, and the clouds would catch the colours everywhere...

Thats... its neat, 'cause I used to look at them all the time when I was little...

You don't see that...

little fluffy clouds in them
