OK, haven't got a clue about the Withdean. Are there any pubs near the ground? And is there a shop where you can purchase drinks, cigarettes and perhaps the odd confectionary item?

The nearest shops are down in Preston Village, I imagine.

A pub at the ground is probably close enough for you, but there are loads to the East of the ground, or near the railway station in Brighton itself.

Oh, and it's Withdean Stadium, not "the" Withdean.

There are two pubs and a couple of shops (including an off licence) near Preston Park. Lots of Albion fans in both pubs before and after the game.

About 15 mins stroll from Withdean.

The 1000 or so travelling Seagulls were, in sombre reflection, a mixture of morons, hooligans and foul-mouthed louts evident from the numbers ejected from the ground.
