It's been one of those very strange days, waiting for news to break, just like the winding up orders, just like the attempted takeovers, and just like the football league voting on our possible expulsion back in 1997.

I have been regularly checking and reading everything today, (and I think i'm speaking for all of us here), I'd just like to thank Lord Bracknell for all his work - not just in the campaigns, but for also acting as the online PR man for the Albion and taking the time out of his own busy day to explain everything to us on the board, and answer everybody's questions, simply and clearly.

Lord Bracknell, thanks.

Lord B is a legend.
I was sitting at my desk at work, head in hands after reading the SCR websites DISGRACEFUL reporting this morning (and I clearly wasn't the only one). I made a particularly upset and depressed posting on NSP....and then there was a glimmer of hope. Someone had posted a thread "Chill out...this is NOT a NO", and after diving into that thread thinking it was just some sick wind-up, someone had cut and pasted Lord B's post.

Depression became hope, then with that hope came understanding of the announcement, followed by a wave of relief (matched only by a FURY at SCR at their scandalous reporting).

Cheers Lord B. Your posts pulled me up by my bootstraps this morning when I really did think all was lost. Good work fella.

And so it came to pass, that on the 27th July in the year 2004, there would be the great decision. The decision that would decide for the good people of Albion whether they wouldst live or die.

Many of the people did gather to watch and wait for those who wouldst deliver the great proclaimation from the great ODPM. It twas rumoured that the time of the proclaimation wouldst be 9 in the morning and the numbers didst swell beyond all proportion.

Then a great misfortune struck, a great fog did descend upon the gathering hosts and struck the hosts and didst make them blind, and the great fog didst contain a message. The message was "503 error".

The gathering crowds scrambled for viewpoints and many didst find themselves gathered together on the outcrop of NSP and there they didst wait and yea, they didst pray and said unto themselves
"I think i'm going to be sick"
"This is a f*cking wind-up, isn't it?"

And then, from out of the mist and fog, there came a few tattered Albion folks, battered and distraught and they didst cry out loud
"Woe, woe, the answer is no! Our nightmares have come true, all is lost, all is lost!"

Behind them there did come two brash and boastful women, crowing unto the masses
"Yea, it is a no! For I am Rebecca Drought, and I am here at Falmer!"
"I am not a NIMBY, I just don't want the stadium here"
And this gloating pair did cause much suffering

And a great cry went up from the gathered hosts and many did weep tears of rage and despair, howling to the sky and beating their chests and crying to the sky
"F*ck, f*ck it, I don't f*cking believe it!"
"I feel sick"
And yea some did shout
"I'm going to egg that fat c*nt back to the stone age!"

Then, from out of the mist and the fog, there rode a man. Not just a man, but a Lord. Surrounded by his heralds, he rode forth from the mist and the fog and he didst proclaim
"Stop, my children! Do not despair, do not weep! For the answer is not no! Neither is it a yes."
"It is a maybe"

And many were confused and cried out
"What the f*ck is going on!?!"

Then the Lord didst take down the masses and the mist and the fog of the "503 error" was lifted and he didst begin to explain the events of the morning. Many were confused and many were angry but the Lord had patience and he explained the decision, for it was a bloody strange one all right. The two arrogant women were banished hence and mocked and slowly the masses began to understand.

Yea, for there is dark times ahead, and many difficult days await us, we have the man to lead us. For this was the day of the Lord.
