When you take a gamble on an inexperienced manager you need to double up the sheets and take the rough with the smooth for an eternity. You'd never get a knee jerk reaction like that in Sussex.

I don't suppose the average B'muff fan is young enough to have grasped the interent and chat forums so one would probably have to look in the Daily MAil letters page for supporter reaction ? :lolol:

How long dif Jeff Wood last? ???

Impatient and desperate, probably taking a bigger risk than chance.

Smells like they find it 100% necessary to go up immediatly or they'll find themselves a poor L1 team in the near future,

They appointed Jonathan Woodgate to the coaching staff last week, coincidental timing??

John Terry applied for the Muff job in the summer apparently, but they went with Tindall.

Possibly getting his mate in place as his No2 before Terry arrives ?

They have serious financial problems and it will be a massive struggle for any manager.
It is more likely to end as a big blot on a manager's CV than a positive.

I doubt if many managers other than those who will never get a big club again will want to touch it.
It's certainly more likely to be Woodgate rather than Lampard.

The Cowley brothers would be a good fit.

Tindall was simply an appalling appointment in the first place. I think the board just wanted continuity.

The standard of football has been pretty dire this season, probably a bit of individual quality getting us up to 2nd at one point but we were flattering to deceive. The last month or so it's literally fallen apart, absolutely clueless on the pitch and things were going backwards at an alarming rate.

Tindall never seemed to have the respect of the players when Howe was here and nothing appears to have changed.

I've no issues with him moving on.

Frank Lampards Plucky Little Bournemouth anyone?

Not a bad shout.

Word is that 'Arry has the ear of the Russian owner there. I daresay he could pull a few strings behind the scenes to get his nephew FF installed.

That's the first we've heard about serious financial problems. The owner stated his intention to get back to the PL, just bought Ben Pearson, also got Wilshere and Shane Long on loan, we still have a strong squad. Three players moved on for £80 million last summer, two were always going to leave (Ake and Wilson) that would have wiped a fair chunk of debt, add on parachute payments.

I’m with you on this with John Terry to his right!

If Tindall didn't have the respect of the players, then how the hell was he appointed? "Continuity" seems like a poor excuse. Having said that, if you think you've made a mistake, best to rectify it early. But not if you then go and appoint Woodgate!

Would Smug go back?

Just spoke to an old colleague, Bournemouth STH about this,?he says that they have to move on, they need a complete change.
Says you can never be as good second time round, I have to say, I think he has a point.

Except Woodgate, he really doesn’t want Woodgate.

A pedant writes....

If he went back it would be third time around. His second time around was pretty good.
