FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Finally people are coming round.

Roberts is far and away the best keeper at the club, and I have every confidence in the new manager to see it too.

Kuipers is good but Roberts is far far better.

We need someone to drop back from midfield, pick up a short pass from Watto or Mayo, or a roll-out from FDM, put his foot on the ball, turn, and pass to someone wearing the same shirt as him. Is that really so hard to do ?

Which was exactly what we did against Rushden or more to the point Rehman did. 3 Games later and he stopped doing it. Suggests something is amiss in training.

Kuipers was on good form when he got his first team place back. He is still a great keeper but his kicking is poor at times. I have said it before but I like the idea of Roberts and Kuipers in competition for the place, both should raise their games repectively to get a chance. I would like McGhee to give Roberts another chance but not indefinitely, as Roberts has had some shaky moments too.

All academic now but was it a mere co-incidence that Rehmann stopped playing well after Coppell left?

Roberts will be in goal tomorrow night against Boston.

Not down to Michel's performance on Saturday, but more because McGhee wants to see what he's about.

The gaffer has an "open mind" on who will ultimately become his number one goalkeeper and it's basically down to the two of them to make his mind up for him.

Going slightly away from the goalkeeper debate, it would help if we had someone who could pass in midfield. I've only been to 4 games this season owing to going down with one of those seasonal bugs and only in the QPR game was the passing up to anything (the other games were Blackpool, Grimsby and Brentford). When does Junior Lewis's loan period end?
