I simply cannot recommend the books of Tim Moore enough - French Revolutions, the one where he cycles the route of the Tour de France is probably his most famous, although Continental Drifter is definitely the best and funniest. The man's a god; I'd kill to be able to write like that.
His latest offering involves him tracking down all the recent Eurovision Song Contest participants who got Nul Points (hence the name) and amongst the trivia already discovered is that the first ever Eurovision in 1956 had a Belgian called Fud Leclerc singing The Drowned Gentleman Of The Seine, whereas the British jury in 1974 gave no points whatsoever to Dome-visiting Swedes ABBA.
Get this book, get the rest of his books, read them, shit yourself laughing then come back and thank me. They're absolutely superb.
