Must admit £34 for a game on a Tuesday night following on from a home game on a Saturday is a bit steep. surely better to lower the prices for less attractive fixtures and fill the seats. £20 or £25 max would be more sensible. Better to have a thousand extra at £20 rather than 250 extra at £34. Also add to atmosphere and players respond to playing to a full stadium. Just glad I've got a season ticket which is great value for money.

Yep. As a non-season ticket holder I went on Saturday and would go on Tuesday if it was cheaper, but I'm not paying close to £30 or over for the privilege.

It would be better having the seats full of kids spending at least £5 a go on food and merchandise compared to empty seats and not making any money at all!

A rather sarcastic reply ten minutes ago simply says south stand tickets are available.

Shame none were for the past 6 weeks they have been on sale.

Maybe the ticket staff have got enough people through the turnstiles already this year to get their maximum Xmas bonus & need to leave another 1,000 or 2,000 seats to be filled next year otherwise their 5% increase target cannot be met & then no bonus Xmas 2013?

To be fair Rob, there are already a fair number of seats allocated to charities, and childrens clubs, and these are situated in the family stand. These get allocated on a match by match basis and are rarely on general sale (only if an organisation returns them). I don't know how many seats this is exactly, but I know it's a fair few in the stand.

TBH I'm not complaining about the absolute price of tickets, that is a matter for the club's pricing people I guess but I do object to the way they force fans to buy the more expensive ones first. I guess we can all get wise and wait until the last minute but I often want to buy for visiting friends/family and it simply isn't practical to wait until the last minute.

There are several other reasons why this is sharp practice too ... particularly to those loyal fans who want to see their team and going to more expensive seats might stretch them financially

There is a huge ELephant in The Amex room and and it is the clubs pathetic profiteering over the sale of match day tickets. The sales policy is now pretty common knowledge and it is discussed reguarly on here. Insider swerving the issue when asked just makes the club look even more ridiculous and un-customer friendly.

Whoever is behind this needs to get a grip asap and get themselves into some sort of long term customer focussed revenue management training. School boy stuff at the moment.

The club must make pittance out of the way they are releasing seats, are losing lots of good will, and even worse long term revenue as people give up trying altogether. Its the sort of thing you'd expect from a company like Ryan Air!

when purchasing some tickets for Peterboro, I made it clear I wanted 'the cheapest', the guy then offered me two tickets in the East, I asked (knowing full well they weren't) if they were the cheapest, he ignored me and kept showing me the plan pointing to various seats in the East. I then requested South Stand tickets and was offered two in the corner right near the front (basically two of the worst seats in the stadium (I use the term 'worst' loosly)) he then reminded me the East Stand seats were a much better view, I didn't question him any further as I accepted the South seats safe in the knowledge we'd have a choice of seats once in there. My points are, I made it clear I wanted the cheapest but weren't offered them, what if I had never been to the stadium before? I would effectively have been mis sold tickets, are we to expect TV ads in 10 years time telling us we can claim compensation?

Its no way to treat people and will result in people saying that they will not put up with it anymore and stop going. I have done that with all loyalty schemes and anything that is in my way of buying a ticket. Like Charlton away. The ground holds 30,000 and the crowd will struggle to get above 21,000 (it was about 18000 last time). Its not up to me to tell the clubs how to run their business but when they p!ss you around enough then when a line has been crossed, there is no going back. Unless i can buy a ticket how I want and when I want (unless there is good reason) then I just dont go now, I wont even read the bizarre requirements they seek to impose.

Putting the cheapest seats on sale the day before the game is not good enough.

IF the South Stand is FULL tomorrow, then I will hold my hands up and say I got it wrong.

IF there are loads of empty Seats, then the club really need to revisit their match day ticketing policy.

I posted a link on another thread about how other clubs (Derby, Cardiff etc) sell their matchday tickets cheapest when they go first on sale, much like Airlines, Trains etc. The Albion seem to be doing the complete opposite, and pissing off fans in the process.

Not only are they pissing off fans, they are not filling the stadium.so failure on two counts.

Not good when we will very soon have a LOT more seats to fill.

So it's less than four hours to kick off and there are now over 100 lovely seats in the WSL, there have just been some added in the ESU and there are even some £28 south stand seats left from those that were released yesterday.

Sadly anyone who parted with their cash before the weekend are likely in the arse pit end of the ESL having paid £34.

I'm happy with my ST, but if I was one of the latter, I would be bombarded the phones now, asking to move and for the difference to be refunded. Only when the club realise what a hassle this will become, are they likely to change this ludicrous policy!

I and others have raised this on ATC. I have also sent to the ticket office, but get identical replies to those from Insider

I have a ST so prices for matches do not worry me. However, if the Club are going to put the most expensive tickets on sale first then this will knock on the head any proposed ticket exchange scheme as this only kicks in when the ground is sold out. Personally I would start off by selling the cheapest match day tickets first to encourage sales.
