I wouldn't have a problem with them if they were used for South African games or any other nation with that culture, but having them for *every* game is tiresome and they just drown out all the singing. I've had enough of them now.

I don't think the Holland game was to bad TBH. 2 goals, goal line clearance and two teams who wanted to play nice passing attacking football.

Obviously not. It just seems that the first set of matches in most world cups are crap, so fear of losing must form some part of it. Either that or they are all fixed

It is a bit boring. May be the Italy V Paraguay might spice things up a bit. You know what Italy are like, they will probably go 1 down, get a player sent off, then get a goal in the last minute.

You rarely see a classic with these early group games. As mentioned, the priority isn't so much winning, its just making sure you don't lose. Teams "feeling their way" into the tournament, all perfectly normal for the first round of group games.
Once these first round-robins are out of the way it will start picking up. There will be more of an edge to the games as the groups take shape.

Yep, a few plastic chairs being chucked about, some pics of some burnt fatties being led away in hand cuffs, perhaps the introduction of a water cannon, and then the story of a bemused Irishman/Aussie/Canadian who is deported in error purely for sounding English.
I believe the correct term is "luzzed"
I agree, it hasn't exactly been a barnstormer of a start although it was quite entertaining to see the Aussies get thumped even though it was against zee germans.
