This team is better than the one we had for the 1st 15 games last time

actually, thinking about it you could be right.
it was coppells 2nd game in charge(after brighton vs sheff utd. & prosser), we would've lost 11 by the palace game, we lost that and then beat bradford 3-2 in our next game

I have bags full of confidence this time - we have a decent manager for a start.

We will get a run in the Championship this time.

we do have a slightly better starting eleven this time round, but not as creative without brooker. and the extent to which the other teams have improved in quality compared to ours is higher. But with our manager, i feel we are in a better position than last time we started our campaign, and given that he is likely to bring in a couple more by reading away, i will be reasonably confident of finishing outside the bottom 3

IMHO, the main reason we lost 12 games on the trot last time was because we relied so heavily on Zamora - and I suppose Kitson as his backup/partner. As we lost both of those Marney & Wilkinson had to shoulder the burden the pressure of scoring the goals. Neither of them are playing league football npw so that was clearly an issue. Because we rarely looked like scoring, our defence knew that one mistake would cost us the game & that's too much pressure.

This time we're not reliant on one striker, and more depth in most area's. Assuming we don't sign any new players I reckon we'll see Reid & Chippy be our first choice midfield pairing, which is better than Chippy, Oatway & Melton.

wed walsal bradford grims have all gone being replaced with
cardiff plymouth qpr crewe
plus teams like west ham and leeds

gillingham spent 300k on two players at the end of the season to help them stay up we cant even dream of doing that

I have to agree, this year imho will be the hardest year in this particular league and should make a very interesting season.

I believe we'll stay upp BUT we will struggle!!
